Music is a large part of our worship at   St. Stephen's.  During the 10:30 am Mass on Sundays our superb, largely volunteer choir, conducted by music director Dr. Dan Hardin, sings a fine repertoire of Anglican anthems, psalms, and motets.

The Choir always welcomes new members.  If you would like to join, please email Dan Hardin or come to a rehearsal.  Choir rehearsals are on Thursday nights from 7:30 to 9 pm in a meeting hall above the Great Hall.

Our Music Director

Dr. Hardin is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and Northwestern University.

In addition to serving as Choir Director and Organist at St. Stephen's, he is Music Librarian at Florida International University and a member of the music faculty there.  He presently serves as Dean of the Ft. Lauderdale chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Our Soloists

Heather holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from University of Florida and is working towards her second degree in Vocal Performance at New World School of the Arts. Prior to her work at St. Stephen's, Heather was a chorister at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. There, she appeared as a featured soloist under Sir David Willcocks for Vivaldi's Gloria. In addition to her work in the choir, Heather is a professional actress, having appeared in a number of shows in the South Florida area.

Previous roles include Helena Landless in the Mystery of Edwin Drood (Stage Door Theatre), Dawn in Affluenza (New Theatre), Sarah in September 10th (Ground Up and Rising) and Dinah in Painted Alice (Mad Cat Theatre). Recently she appeared in the role of Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte at the Gusman Theatre in downtown Miami. Heather is very happy to call St. Stephens her church home and sends many thanks to Dan Hardin and the choir for their generous support.
